Our summer reading program kickoff cookout was a hit! Lots of families came by to enjoy free hot dogs, chips and lemonade and to sign up for summer reading. Big thanks to all our volunteers!

The Board provides volunteer leadership of the library. It meets once a month on the third Wednesday at 6:30 pm for an hour or so. That’s all the commitment required.
If you’re interested, please fill out this form and return to City Hall or the library. You must live in Lonsdale or the surrounding rural area.

Space Pirate Encounter Escape Room
Thanks volunteer Sara Richter! And to the 18 brave teens and tweens who saved their spaceship from disaster by using their wits and teamwork.

Ice Cream Social
Thanks to our fabulous volunteers and to the 76 of you who braved the insane heat for the sweet finish to our summer reading program.
We also had Maker Mondays, family movie Tuesdays and Teens ‘n Tweens Thursdays. Oh, and drop-in crafts and worksheets. In short, it was a whirlwind! Thanks again to everyone who participated. See you next year.
One-on-one computer tutoring will now be available on an appointment basis. If you have a computer issue you would like help with, you can email Marguerite or call the library at 507-744-3977 to schedule a time. Tutoring is always free.
Love kids? Love the library? We are looking for adult and teen volunteers to help with our summer reading program.
Mondays at 10:30 am: Make, Listen and Move, our craft and music program for kids 6-10. One or two volunteers needed to assist at the program. Also, to help prepare craft projects ahead of time.
Friday, June 8 at 10:30 am: Pizza party kickoff Four to six volunteers needed to help with outdoor games, sign up participants and direct traffic.
Saturday, July 21 at 11:00 am: Ice cream social closing party. Three to four volunteers needed to serve ice cream and help with activities.

Computer tutoring at the library
Join us for one-on-one computer instruction. If you need help getting started with computers in general or need to learn about a particular program, we would be glad to help you. You name the topic, and we’ll work together on one of our computers.
Our volunteer tutor is available on the third Wednesday of the month from 3-6 pm. An appointment is strongly suggested. Please contact the library at 507-744-3977 or email Marguerite Moran to schedule your session.

- Microsoft Word

Lonsdale Public Library Board
Help shape the library as a member of our board.
- Attend monthly meetings to oversee the library’s budget and operations
- Interview and hire new employees
- Advocate for the library in the community
Board members are appointed by the Mayor. You must be a resident of the city of Lonsdale. Please fill out this application: City Board Application and return it to City Hall.
SELCO Advisory Board
Help influence library services at a broader level by getting involved with our regional library system.
- Attend quarterly meetings to oversee SELCO’s budget and operations
- Serve on committees to shape the region’s future library services
- Advocate for libraries
