WHEN: Friday, October 29th, 4-6 pm
WHERE: Lonsdale Public Library
WHAT: Halloween Party!!!
Visit the mad scientist’s laboratory to see creepy experiments, examine terrifying specimens, and drink a potion, if you dare!
Enjoy our indoor amusement park where you can play mini-golf, toss a ball into a monster’s mouth, do some boo bowling or pin the alien in its spaceship!
And don’t forget the library, where we will have crafts for little and not-so-little kids, coloring and worksheets, a spooky photo backdrop, trivia for grown-ups and lots of yummy treats!
Because of the size of the crowd, we ask you to please wear your masks. Thanks for helping us keep our community safe.
Our Food for Fines drive starts the day of the party and goes until Saturday, November 6th. Donate any unexpired non-perishable food, household item, or cash to the Lonsdale Area Food Shelf and we will waive up to $10 in late fees from our library.
Pumpkin Art Contest
WHO: Teens 13-19
WHEN: October 15-October 29
WHAT: Juried art show
If you are a teen and want to share your artistic talents, decorate a pumpkin in a non-invasive way (no carving, please) and bring it to the library. We will put it on display and the library staff will choose a winner to be announced at our Halloween Party on Friday, October 29th.

Twix was the scrappy six seed that would not be denied. Its path to victory included beating number three Skittles, number two Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and number one Snickers!
Thanks to everyone who participated. Enjoy all your candy this year. Happy Halloween!
Come to the library on Friday, October 30 or Saturday, October 31 to get your party in a bag! We’re sad that we won’t be able to offer our usual party, but instead, you can bring the fun home. Packets will include coloring pages, activity sheets, a recipe, a craft, a prize or two and a bag of candy! Choose pre-reader, reader or teen/tween.

You and your friend are done trick or treating; should you go into that supposedly haunted house? You decide! The adventure is waiting and how it turns out is completely up to you.
Recommended for ages 10 and up because of some scary content and mature issues. There are more than 20 possible outcomes, so don’t be afraid to try again.
In busy voting week one, all of the high seeds came through. The biggest blowout was Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups over candy corn 58 to 9. The closest contest was Tootsie Rolls edging out Jolly Ranchers 33 to 24. The top eight remain for you to choose from. Vote for your favorites here.
Your library staff loves Halloween! This year, we can’t have our usual party, so we’re coming up with new kinds of fun. One of those is a bracket for us to choose our favorite candy. You can vote in the library or online here. Vote once every week of October. We will announce the winner on November 2nd. Don’t let your favorite miss out!
