The Lonsdale Public Library was founded in 2010 to serve the growing population of Lonsdale and its surrounding area. We seek to give the members of the community the chance to be entertained, to learn, and to connect with the broader world.
Our collections include adult fiction and non-fiction, books for children and young people, DVDs including movies and educational programs for young and old, CDs, magazines, and newspapers. You can also use your library card to access digital collections including magazines and e-books that you can read from any computer or tablet. We have computers available to the public and free wireless service.
LPL staff members answer reference questions, aid in research, request items both from within the SELCO system and from much of the state through the Minnesota Library Information Network (MNLink). We teach patrons how to use a wide range of technology, including computer software, email and social networking, and downloading digital content onto a variety of devices. The LPL staff also offers programs to entertain and educate young children and adults. These include twice-weekly story times, the Summer Reading Program encouraging kids to keep reading after school is out, the Hot Reads for Cold Nights winter reading program for adults, and numerous special events.
Your library staff in our Halloween best: Penny Matchinski, Lois Tuma, Marguerite Moran, Darlene Smisek and Susan Watts.
